Dios Santos is the professional name of Canadian rapper Cheron Medina. Born in Trinidad and raised in Toronto, the emcee made his debut in 2019 with the single “Big Drip.” The success of that track led to some high profile placements including a feature on Juelz Santana & Maino’s ‘Unsigned Artists’ mixtape. Soon his songs were counting their spins in the hundreds of thousands.
Santos has released four more singles since his debut. With each new track he sees his fan base grow. On April 16, 2021 he dropped his latest single. “Smoke” is Dios Santos’ first release of 2021. The track is a classic drill rap set to a hard Trap beat. Over a dark and dramatic groove, the rapper delivers a graphic and violent gangster narrative. Among others, Dios Santos lists Method Man as an inspiration. We can hear the Wu-Tang influence in the song’s hardcore subject matter and the rapper’s aggressive technique.
“Smoke” features a hard and funky beat, lightning fast rhymes and some real gangland scenes. The song has already connected with hundreds of thousands of Hip-hop fans worldwide.
