Amanda Stone’s New Retro Glam Pop Noir

Amanda Stone's New Retro Glam Pop Noir 1

Amanda Stone is an interesting character. A creative chameleon of sorts, she let’s the music and fashion take her where they will. Stone ran away from home at 17 to join a punk band. It was the beginning of a musical journey which has found the Nashville musician crooning classic Pop in recording studios, rocking out on stage with her band Baby Brains and spinning discs behind the decks.

“I Want You” is the latest single from Amanda Stone, released worldwide to all major streaming services on April 2, 2021. For the new track the singer has adopted a vintage blonde bombshell aesthetic and classic 60’s Motown R&B/Pop vibe. With its AM radio introduction, Supremes-worthy ‘doo-doo-doo’ backing vocals and fabulously organic analog instrumentation, “I Want You” is a feel-good musical trip to a simpler time. After the year we’ve all had, it is just what the doctor ordered.

It’s my hope that when you listen to “I Want You” you’ll feel a little lighter.

The video for “I Want You” expands on the fun with Amanda playing the lead role as a submissive sexpot wife who also apparently has a number of substance abuse problems. The short film alternates between scenes of the singer doting over her man and then drinking, smoking and huffing her way into oblivion. The darkly entertaining visuals are a brilliant companion to the feel-good, lighthearted music.
