“Long Time/Bag” is the latest single from Sam Blk, released worldwide to all major streaming services on May 21, 2021. The song is really a double single of two short tunes combined into one. The record opens with “Long Time,” a cool bit of Psychedelic Hip-hop. Percussive, EDM-style synths roll on a low Trap groove. Sam Blk rhymes dismissively about his haters as he sings, “I heard they prayin’ on my downfall. They gon be prayin’ for a long time.”
Halfway through the single the beat shifts to “Bag,” a downtempo lo-fi Boom Bap. 80’s style retro Synthwave keys ride the slow groove. Although the track has changed, Sam Blk maintains the trippy vibe as he drops a few quick bars and mixes it up with some hypnotic vocal and synth effects. The two halves flow perfectly together and provide a cool 2:40 escape from reality.
