AUDOIR is not a band or musical artist in the traditional sense. As a matter of fact, the primary creative force behind the project is not even human. AUDOIR is an AI music technology company, with a focus on building AI music generators and songwriting tools to help artists create hit songs. SAM is the songwriter. SAM is an app.
“Start it Up” is the latest single from AUDOIR, released worldwide to all major streaming services June 1, 2021. The track is also their entry into the 2021 AI Song Contest. The team consists of Wayne Cheng, Robert Thomas and SAM. The upbeat and infectiously catchy Pop song is their demonstration of how today’s AI music technology can be used by artists to write pop songs.
A flash of 8-bit electronic music introduces the tune to remind us of its source before the verse kicks into an “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” style Ska-infused beat. The singer delivers a lighthearted tale about going out dancing. In the melodic, contemporary Pop chorus she sings of letting go of inhibitions and giving into emotion. There is even a cool bit of psychedelia in the song’s bridge. Every note and every word was written by SAM, the computer program.
