Paul Alexander Low returns with the second single from his forthcoming debut solo album, “Sunshine After Rain.” Regular readers of The Static Dive are well acquainted with the British singer/songwriter. In August of 2020 he debuted with the single “Feel Your Heart Come Alive.” The song told the tale of a person who let fear hold them back from achieving their dreams. It also represented Low’s own personal leap of faith out of that fear. It was his first song after ditching the corporate world to pursue a life in music.
Since then the singer has enjoyed a string of successes. His signature sound of Americana-infused Indie-Pop has resonated with listeners across both the digital and terrestrial worlds, from the online success of that first single to support for subsequent tracks at radio. His music has been featured on BBC Solent, BBC Radio Tees and Amazing Radio and press outlets such as Vents, Lifoti and Americana UK Magazines.
“Alien Race” is the latest single from Paul Alexander Low, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 4, 2021. The song is an upbeat and catchy Pop Americana track with strong summer vibes. Joining Paul in the studio is a live band of well known session musicians including; Rob Brian (Goldfrapp, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel) and Simon Johnson (Tom Jones, James Morrison, Lana Del Ray). Electric guitars ring and lush vocal harmonies backup Paul’s powerful classic Pop vocals. Over an uptempo acoustic guitar and piano groove Low sings of his time in college, living far from his small town home for the first time.
Having grown up in a sleepy village in Wiltshire it was like landing on a different planet. I felt like I had arrived in an alien civilisation but clearly I was the alien. It took me a while to settle in but in the end, I really enjoyed my time in the great city of Birmingham.
