We first heard from Eaden last week when he debuted a video of his impressive freestyle on the Junkie Lab. With that short film we were introduced to a talented rapper with a quick wit, excellent technique and a natural lyrical flow. The 23 year-old Montreal-based artist impressed a lot of people with his intricate improvised wordplay. What makes the performance even more impressive is that rapping is not even his main gig. However, as he says on his latest single he is a “singer that raps better than the rappers.”
“Letter to Your Ex” is the latest single from Eaden, released worldwide to all major streaming services on May 24, 2021. With its laid-back, old-school Boom bap beat, the tune rolls on a mellow Jazz guitar and natural bass groove. Meanwhile he delivers a clever reminder to his Ex. The message is simple… it’s over, stop calling. The ex sees his star rising and wants to hitch their wagon. But he’s not having it. Eaden’s smooth and melodic delivery slides seamlessly between singing, rapping and then back again as he drops his fun, soulful and clever diss track.
