Jared Mancuso’s Defiant Surf Grunge Riff Rock – Break Me

Jared Mancuso's Defiant Surf Grunge Riff Rock - Break Me 1

We first heard from Jared Mancuso in January upon the release of his single “Go On.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a vastly talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a penchant for guitar driven Riff Rock and Power Pop. Originally from the East Coast and now living in Phoenix, Mancuso rocks a pompadour hairdo, mod suits and a mean guitar.

“Break Me” is the latest single from Jared Mancuso, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 4, 2021. Opening with pounding, percussive drums and a distortion saturated bass riff, the track has a groovy Grunge/Surf-Rock vibe. Soon it kicks into a high-octane Power Pop groove reminiscent of the über-catchy Alt/Rock of 90’s bands like Supergrass and Teenage Fanclub. The bridge brings some wild bass and guitar interplay which culminates in an explosive guitar solo.

Lyrically “Break Me” is a defiant howl. Jared screams at a mad world, daring it to go ahead and try to break him. After over a year of lockdowns and quarantines he declares, “We’ve all been stuck inside, it’s time to get back on the floor.” It’s a hard rocking Pop anthem for anyone who has had enough of the pandemic. So… everyone.

We have to start to break ourselves back out and ease the anxieties we built up. It won’t happen overnight, but when you’re ready, blast this song and kick open the door.
