In 2017 her self-released CD, “Lady Of The Blues” won for Best Album. She works extensively with local and national charitable causes in the name of cancer research, veteran’s affairs and assisting women and children in need. Among her creative influences she counts legends like Jazz great Billie Holiday and Blues icon Big Mama Thornton.

“Something to Believe In” is the latest single from Miss Freddye, released worldwide to all major streaming services on April 24, 2021. Penned by Frank Wildhorn and originally recorded by Linda Eder, the song is an inspirational anthem for the most difficult of times. As the world slowly emerges from the confusion, fear and anxiety of the past 18 months, people everywhere are trying to make some sense of the chaos. We’re all trying to figure out where we go from here. Or as Miss Freddye sings, “Everybody’s trying to find some meaning in their lives.”

A soulful Adult Contemporary Pop ballad, “Something to Believe In” hints at the singer’s church roots. Her band plays a smooth downtempo R&B groove as lush orchestral strings expand the horizon. Miss Freddye sings of being set adrift, searching for a purpose. As the song progresses she finds that purpose as she is joined by a joyful Gospel choir. By the end, the song that started as an intimate monolog evolves into a cinematic and powerfully emotional piece.
