We first heard from VINOTHEKIDD in April of this year, upon the release of the video for his song, “Wifey.” That track introduced us to a talented young Hip-hop/Reggae artist with a soulful voice and strong R&B vibes. He is a rapper, singer and songwriter based in Worcester, Massachusetts. Since his debut in 2020, the prolific artist has produced a string of successful singles as well as a full length album.
“For the Better” is the latest single from VINOTHEKIDD, released worldwide to all major streaming services on May 28, 2021. With a cool mix of musical styles Vino lays down an emotionally complex love letter full of devotion and confusion.. A lo-fi Trap beat meets a bluesy Jazz guitar for a chill R&B groove. Retro electronic percussion and deep 808 bass hits set a mellow mood. Meanwhile Vino slides easily between a soulful vocal and laid back melodic rap as he shares both the joy and pain of love..

I was inspired actually by a past relationship that didn’t work out and how I went about the aftermath of it. The lyrics depict my mentality on how I was approaching it and the constant contradictions that entail romance in the modern day especially.
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
My plans for the future of my music is to build a strong fanbase, or rather a family, of individuals that are strangers, but all are able to relate and feel the emotions that I put into each song. Each song will be more of a conversation for them and an outlet for them to not escape persay, but rather release that negative energy and transmute it into a positive influence for growth.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
You hold power in the words you use everyday, and not just the ones you say to others, but the ones you say to yourself. Change in the outer world starts with your inner world, so feed the soil in your soul with the right words so that they may bear beautiful fruits in the world around you.
