Holliday Drops Chill New Single “Oceans”

holliday

Holliday is an independent Hip-hop artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland he began writing his own original music in childhood. In 2018 he got down to recording his work. This year the singer, songwriter, rapper and producer makes his professional debut with a series of singles. So far he has dropped a half dozen tracks on SoundCloud and two widely distributed songs.

“Oceans’ ‘ is the debut single from Holliday, available worldwide on all major streaming services. The downtempo tune rides on a cool, experimental lo-fi Hip-hop beat with a bit of a Latin groove. Ambient synths and a melancholy piano set a quiet and mellow vibe as low bass tones hold down the bottom. Meanwhile Holliday delivers a melodic spoken word rap to his girl. It is a love song, and an escape fantasy. He dreams of leaving for the ocean with his love as he sings, “Let’s live life open. Don’t you wanna see oceans?”

I had just lost my job and was driving back home and all I thought about was being free, getting away and going as far as possible. “Don’t you wanna see oceans?” was the first thing that came out my mouth and after that everything just came to me.
