Alan Graham is an emerging singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer from Scotland. A veteran of the Glasgow music scene, he has performed and recorded with various bands over the past 15 years. In 2021 the singer is making his solo recording debut.
“Something’s Got to Give” the new single from Alan Graham, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 8, 2021. The tune is a dark Indie-Folk/Rock song about a dire situation. Graham opens the track with acoustic guitar in hand, lamenting the inevitable. Throughout the song his voice flows easily between hushed, melancholy tones and the soulful cry of the song’s title.
This song is about a failing parent, and slowly realizing it’s too draining to keep trying.

Musically, “Something’s Got to Give” is a cool mix of styles. At its heart the song is a bit of acoustic Dark Pop set to a Lo-Fi Hip-hop beat. As the track progresses Alan Graham flexes his bar band Rock & Roll muscles with some well placed electric guitar leads. Subtle piano and strings supply the tune with just the right amount of cinematic drama. This mix of styles is no coincidence as Alan’s list of influences covers the spectrum of popular music. He cites artists as varied as Avenged Sevenfold, Lewis Capaldi and Billie Eilish as inspirations.
