Keith Coleman’s Infectious New “Hangover”

Keith Coleman is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Ireland. The twenty-four year-old will be making his international recording debut on July 2, 2021 with the catchy and clever Indie Pop single “Hangover.” The singer describes the tune as, “An energetic, in-your-face, upbeat record.” With endlessly clever lyrical turns of phrase and a perfect radio-ready Pop groove, the song is also the most fun breakup song we’ve heard in a long time.

A relationship can be very exhausting and tiring sometimes. When somebody can be so immersed in your ‘ozone’ it can cause relationship fatigue and can also lead to the destruction of a relationship. You need that space whether it be going out and getting a hangover or something else.

The singer and his acoustic guitar open the track with a catchy three chord groove. Soon they are joined by a full Rock ensemble of electric guitar, bass, drums and keys. Keith Coleman delivers a fun and witty tune, lyrically and melodically centered around the excellent hook, “I need a hangover to get over you.” The singer cites artists like John Mayer, Birdy & Daughter and James Bay as his primary influences. If this first single is any indication, like his heroes he has both the voice and the songwriting chops to connect with a wide mainstream audience.

The track was recorded, produced and mixed by ‘Pillowhead’ (Peter McCoy & Pauric McCrum) at Black Mountain Studios in Ireland. The band features Luke Cassidy on the drums, Peter McCoy on Bass and Keith Coleman on guitar. The album’s artwork was created by the talented Conor Marron, the Creative Director on the project. It features a teddy bear who has seen better days. The bear will be a recurring visual theme on future Keith Coleman releases, which will include his debut full length album later this year.
