Michael Brondstetter is a singer/songwriter from sunny Southern California. Based in San Diego, his sound is born of his home state’s history of classic laid back, thought-provoking music. With equal parts Americana, Pop and Rock, he cultivates what is often referred to as the ‘Topanga Valley Sound.’ It’s a vibe established decades ago by artists like Jackson Browne and David Crosby, and it is alive and well in the music of bands like Dawes.
“Sunset Silhouette” is the latest single from Michael Brondstetter, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 18, 2021. A breezy summertime love song, the track rolls on a nice Folk/Pop groove. Opening with a simple acoustic guitar, bass and drums arrangement, Michael tells the sweet tale of the early days of a romance. As the song progresses the mix expands to include electric guitar, percussion and a fantastic horn arrangement. A bit of Hammond organ peppers the periphery. The band is exceptional throughout. At the heart of the tune is Michael’s smooth and very chill Pop tenor as he sings of sitting on the beach and admiring his lover’s “Sunset Silhouette.”
I came up with the song idea at Michael Chaves studio. I had a title that Chaves liked, Sunset Silhouette, plus an instrumental that I’d sent him as a musical idea. While he was lying down the base tracks, I started to write the verse “You said let’s get away….”Michael Brondstetter
