Bayts Gets Real On The New “6 Shots Later”

Norman Bayts woke up in the hospital, six shots later. On July 2, 2021 the veteran Hip-hop artist will drop his new 10-song debut solo album “Baytes (6 Shots Later).” The record takes inventory of the artist’s thoughts and feelings, waking up in that recovery room after being shot six times. On the album he looks back at the struggle, pain, ups and downs of a hard fought life, and looks forward to getting back to his grind and back to normalcy.

Norman (Bayts) Dorsey was born on July 20, 1985 in the tough Newhallville neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. By the time he was just 14 years old he was well acquainted with both street life and Hip-hop. He and his friends started making music as a creative outlet and temporary escape from the realities of the hustle. His first crew called themselves CTLB (Connecticut the lost Borough) and he later hooked up with the group Backroom Ent Llc. In 2020 he made his solo debut as Bayts, collaborating with fellow New Haven rapper Dunc on the six-song EP “Winter Time Grind.”

A day before his new album “6 Shots Later” hits the street, on July 1, 2021 Bayts will drop the brand new single and video, “Recipe.” The song is a smooth Hip-hop slow jam. On the seductive and melodic track he lets his lady know that her mind, body and soul are the recipe he needs to get back in the game. The slow and sexy groove will pull listeners in and keep them there.

With a list of influences that include The LOX, Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Big Daddy Kane, Norman Bayts creates a sound that mixes modern Trap beats with old-school Boom Bap grooves, R&B, Rock and Soul. He is an emcee with the skills and credentials to deliver real life, and it doesn’t get any more real than “6 Shots Later.” Follow the links below to connect with Bayts.
