Cpyridon (pronounced: spee-ree-don) is the professional name of Spyridon Politis, an independent singer, composer and record producer. Born in Athens, the 31 year-old Greek/Canadian singer made his professional debut in 2016 with the four track EP “I.” Over the course of the next 5 years the multi-instrumentalist musician released a series of singles and videos. He has enjoyed a particularly prolific 2021, with 3 songs released so far this year.
With the exception of some classic cover song performance videos on his YouTube channel, all of Cpyridon’s official releases to date have been either instrumental or in Greek. He is breaking that pattern with his latest single. “Will You Love Again” is the wide-distribution English language debut from Cpyridon, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 22, 2021.
A melancholy Rock torch song, “Will You Love Again” finds the singer lamenting the mixed messages and confusion of an uncertain love affair. Over a downtempo arrangement of a Jazz-fueled drum beat, piano, guitar, bass and ambient synths, Cpyridon pleads with his love to stay. With an emotional, theatrical flare and a classic Contemporary Pop tenor he sings, “Please, please… stay forever here.”
Throughout the track, the singer incorporates lush multipart harmonies and choral vocal samples into the arrangement. The production technique adds to the cinematic vibe of the song. The tune reaches its emotional crescendo in the bridge with an arena-worthy guitar solo. All instrumental and vocal performances throughout the track are top-notch.
