Chris Ruggiero’s Timeless New Album

Chris Ruggiero

Chris Ruggiero is a 22 year-old singer with a timeless style and talent that belie his young age. The New York-based artist tours incessantly, performing classic tunes from the ‘Great American Pop-Rock Songbook’ for sold-out crowds across the United States. His music resurrects the class of a bygone era in which velvet-voiced crooners delivered cinematic love songs while donned in three-piece designer suits.

I try to make every move and sing every song with a touch of class that reminds the audience of a time when entertainers put their heart and soul into their songs and delivering an exceptional concert was paramount.

Chris Ruggiero

Though he may be young, Chris Ruggiero is a veteran of the stage. He first came to national attention when he performed as a child in concert on a PBS coast-to-coast broadcast special, which still airs to this day. Since then he has performed everywhere from Miami to Las Vegas, performing on the same stages occupied decades earlier by his Rat Pack idols.

“I Am Chris Ruggiero” is the brand new album from Chris Ruggiero, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 30, 2021. The record is a collection of vintage Rock & Roll and Pop classics from decades past. On the album Chris has teamed up with legendary producer and arranger Charlie Calello, who holds the record for the most pop/rock hit records of any arranger with 62 singles in the Top 40 and over 100 singles on the national Hot 100.

Beautifully recorded and performed, the 12 song album covers a broad spectrum of popular music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and even a hint of the 1980’s. From the opening melancholy notes of the Bee Gees’ “Run to Me” to the acoustically reimagined Ben E King classic “This Magic Moment,” Ruggiero and Calello create a timeless sound featuring a classic Rock & Roll ensemble, augmented by a full orchestra to create a rich and cinematic vibe. They combine the feel of 50’s and 60’s Rock with smooth 70’s Pop/Jazz arrangements of horns and strings.

Vocally, Chris Ruggiero’s performances are exemplary throughout the record. He glides easy from quiet whispers to high falsettos and then back down to that classic Pop tenor. There are musical surprises across the board, from the upbeat interpretation of the Mamas & Papas’ “California Dreamin” to a very cool piano-ballad mashup of The Beatles’ “And I love Her” and The Police smash hit “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic.” Chris’s version of Harry Nilsson’s “One” is a real highpoint, as is the cool take on the Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” found here as a lush and cinematic downtempo groove.

On “I Am Chris Ruggiero,” Chris Ruggiero and Charlie Calello have created a gorgeous ode to the great tradition of Pop and Rock songwriting. And with the album, Chris firmly establishes himself as a tremendous singing talent with decades of music ahead of him. Check out the album in its entirety below.
