LOVEGUSS is a new multimedia collaborative project from a pair of Iceland-based visionary creators. Musician, composer, producer and recording studio director Arnar Guðni has teamed up with French native photographer, graphic designer and filmmaker Kévin Pagès to create scenes of minimalist colors and textures of nature both in sound and image. The project’s name signifies a love of nature as the duo pairs Guðni’s lush instrumentals with Pagès’ beautiful images of Iceland’s historic natural beauty.
AbunDance is the debut single from LOVEGUSS, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 2, 2021. Opening with a simple, stark piano intro the track soon meets a mellow downtempo groove. Low bass tones swell from below as understated syncopated percussion adds a rich subtext. Distant ambient synths broaden the reach of the tune, creating a warm and expansive sound. As the song progresses, its sub-rhythms and circling melodies become more involved and nuanced.
It’s a beautiful, meditative sound that will transport listeners to the wide horizons of Icelandic skies.
