Invent is an international rapper, singer and songwriter who has connected with millions of fans around the world, beginning with the release of his 2018 debut EP, “Obsessed.” Since then the multi-talented artist has released nearly two dozen singles. Splitting his time between the United States and Europe, with his producer Black Island he has created one hit after another. His 2020 single “Lost on the Way” has over two million streams on multiple platforms.
“All Alone” is the latest track from Invent, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 25, 2021. On the new song the rapper has teamed up with New Zealand singer, Mikayla Sippel for a dark but hopeful tale of loneliness and depression. The track opens with a melancholy piano and Mikayla’s soulful vocal as she sings the song’s heartbreaking chorus. Invent enters the mix with an Emo rap about the emptiness left by a lost loved one.
A powerful and cinematic backing track churns forward as the two vocalists trade verses, sharing varying degrees of loss and confusion. By the last verse the two sing in unison, in a narrative that acknowledges their mutual disconnect from the world around them. However, they keep an eye toward better days as they conclude with the line, “This can’t be the end.”
