State Space is the professional name of singer, songwriter and producer Vova Tumasiants. A native of Ukraine, Vova is now based in Germany. By day he is a mild-mannered electrical engineer. By night he creates multi-genre original music in his studio and performs live in local clubs. Growing up Vova was heavily influenced by the Pop and Dance music of the day. However, the 90’s Brit-Pop and Alternative Rock of artists like Oasis ultimately inspired him to seriously pursue music. Although much of his earlier work was guitar-based Rock & Roll music, his recent creations have leaned toward experimental and retro-electronic.
“Saint” is the latest single from State Space, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 1, 2021. The track mixes classic Synthwave sounds with modern EDM beats. At it’s heart the song has an 80’s-style Alt/Pop electronic sound reminiscent of New Order’s more upbeat stuff. Percussive, syncopated synth arpeggios and some fantastic vintage drum machine programming combine to create complex sub-rhythms around the song’s driving House beat. Vocally, Vova delivers a radio-ready and infectiously catchy tale about following his dreams. It’s a great sound with a classic vibe and a groove ready for the dance clubs of 2021.
