J.E.S Sharp is the professional name of Christian rapper, singer, songwriter and producer Jordan Shields. The Akron, Ohio musician has been making music since childhood. As an adult he uses his platform as the artist J.E.S Sharp and his brand the “StaySharpMovement” (SSM) to promote spirituality and striving to be on point. He wants to help others be better than they were before and to live in accordance with God’s will.
“Clearing” is the latest single from J.E.S. Sharp, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 4, 2021. The track is built on a mellow Hip-hop beat and a melodic backing track. A beautiful classical acoustic guitar sample meets a slow Hip-hop groove featuring elements of Trap and old school. An airy flute floats on the periphery of the mix playing a smooth melody. Meanwhile the rapper delivers a laid-back rhyme about his experiences in finding God and lifting his life up above the hustling of his youth.
I was inspired to create this project by the opportunity to spread the gospel and use my talent to glorify God while doing something I deeply enjoy!
