3Alphas Bring Back R&B, 90’s Style on “Only You”

3Alphas is a a group of three friends who first got together in college when they were all students of the University of Arkansas and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity brothers. After graduating, the trio decided to pursue their dream of bringing back the heyday of 90’s R&B. Corbin from Dallas, Texas, T3 from Portland, Oregon and Mr. Wes from Washington, D.C. united over their love of the genre and a shared opinion that real R&B was no longer being represented in the music industry. They longed for the days when groups like Jodeci, Blackstreet and Bell Biv DeVoe filled the airwaves with soulful love songs and three part harmony.

After releasing a Christmas song in late 2019, the group dropped their debut album “Dysfunction” in 2020. With that record they reintroduced to the world the kind of smooth vocal-driven, romantic R&B music they felt had been left behind by the music business. They just call it ‘good music’ and they were certain the fans were still out there. It turns out they were right. The group has connected worldwide with fans of ‘good music.’ Since the album came out the trio has released four more singles. With each new record, their fan base grows.

“Only You” is the latest single from 3Alphas, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 8th, 2021. Riding on classic synth bass tones and a vintage 808 beat, the trio sings a perfectly harmonized love letter to that special girl. From the production techniques to the vocal arrangements and songwriting style, everything about their music brings to mind better days for lovers of old-school R&B. And all three singers’ ability to expertly pull off the vocal complexities of that era is most impressive. This is great, romantic and soulful R&B music, as it should be.
