Lin’s Dark Fight With The Monsters In Your Mind

Lin is the professional name of singer, songwriter and producer Linnéa Kuling. The Swedish artist has been making music her entire life. She wrote her first song at 7 and recorded her first tracks at 14. She is also a famous author in her home country, thanks to her autobiography “Knutbyflickan.” The book is a firsthand account of life in a cult as well as Lin’s successful escape just 4 years ago.

Since then, she has been working on her music. She released a series of singles, beginning in 2017. Her recent work includes the Classical/Pop and Hip-hop mix of “Hollow” and the wildly experimental Electro-Pop “Machine.” In all of her work there is an element of 80’s Synthwave. However, this is a bold and creative producer who regularly mixes seemingly disparate musical genres into something new.

“Monster In Your Mind” is her latest single, available worldwide on all major streaming services. The record starts in somewhat familiar territory with Synthwave keys and low EDM bass tones. However, soon after the singer begins her cryptic tale of mental illness, the track gets darker and more complex with added keys and percussion. By the time we reach the chorus the song has evolved into an experimental Dubstep jam. All along, the singer delivers a soulful Dark Pop vocal performance about the inescapable monsters in our minds.
