MICah is an up and coming Hip-hop artist from Chicago, Illinois. The rapper debuted in 2020 with the single “Forbidden Fruit.” That track introduced a hypnotic Cloud Rap vibe with laid-back, melodic rhymes about the realities of the grind. Since that first song, the aspiring emcee has dropped two more singles, each reaching thousands of Hip-hop fans around the globe.
“Rat Race” is the latest single from MICah, released worldwide to all major streaming platforms on July 9, 2021. Riding on a slow and dark Trap beat, the track sets a mellow and psychedelic mood with ambient keys and trippy background vocals. Meanwhile MICah delivers a smooth, melodic rap about navigating his business and his women.
MICah takes a holistic and hands-on approach to his music, paying attention to every detail from the mix to the visuals. It’s a commitment that is apparent in every aspect of his brand. With that extra level of dedication he is creating a unique sound and personalized style that he believes will set him apart from his peers as an artist willing to push the envelope and take chances.
The cover art was influenced by the movie Rat Race that I loved as a kid. An important part of being an artist for me is being able to tie my childhood memories into songs and get even more creative with the cover art.
