Audrey’s Dance is one of the many professional monikers of multi-instrumentalist composer, Michael Vuckovac. Michael releases most of his original music as Michael’s Statement, a Progressive Rock project. However he also works as a film score composer, mixing his Prog-Rock sound with ambient and orchestral vibes. That’s where Audrey’s Dance comes in.
Born in Pforzheim, Germany, Michael has had a lifelong love for music. At just 5 years-old he became hooked on the psychedelic sounds of Pink Floyd. From that point forward his childhood was spent deeply entrenched in the Art-Rock realm of artists like Genesis, Rush, King Crimson and ELP. It’s a world of complex musical arrangements, Science Fiction themes and wailing guitar solos.
At 15 he got his first drum kit, joined his father’s Rock & Blues cover band and the rest is history. By the late 1990’s Michael was playing in his own band Night Patrol. The group still performs to this day. About 10 years ago he began releasing his own solo projects as well. His first Audrey’s Dance record “Ghosts of Salem ” came out in 2020. Vuckovac has released 4 more since, each connected to a cinematic project.
“Electricity (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” is the latest single from Audrey’s Dance, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 2, 2021. The track opens with melodic chimes reminiscent of a music box. Soon the light, airy music is met by a dark and gothic minor-key arrangement of piano and guitar. The mix continues to build in complexity with the addition of orchestral strings and a hint of Dark Wave guitar. As the track progresses it transforms into a beautiful and cinematic (mostly) solo piano piece until we ultimately fade out on those same musical chimes.
