TheRealKjBandz is the professional name of rising Hip-hop artist Kadrian Jamar Gooding. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia and now living in North Carolina, the twenty year-old Getmoneyrecords rapper, producer and songwriter made his debut in 2019. Since then he has released a full album, a number of singles and now a brand new EP.
“Forreal” is the new single and video from the new “Activated” EP by TheRealKjBandz, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 2, 2021. The record opens on the psychedelic slow jam Soul of “Geeked (Intro)” and the rolls into “Forreal,” a downtempo Trap groove. “Forreal” combines a mellow summer vibe with a hard street attitude.
Ethereal minor-key arpeggios open the track and remain floating on the periphery of the mix throughout the song. Soon the beat drops. It’s a hard Trap groove. Deep bass hits bounce on a classic 808 beat. TheRealKjBandz enters the mix with a Drill rap. He and guest rapper Dez Cain trade verses and stories. Both rappers counter the lyrics’ violent themes with a laid-back Southern flow.
