Jipó is the professional name of singer, songwriter and dancer Jose Isaac Palacio Otero. The fast rising Puerto Rican/Dominican star has been making music since he was just 6 years-old, singing lead in his local church choir. He got his big break last year after becoming a semi finalist on the internationally popular Spanish-language version of The Voice. He won over millions of fans around Latin America and the United States. Soon he had a record deal, moved to Miami and got to work on his debut album with Grammy winning producer José Miguel Velasquez.
“Muah Muah ” is the debut single and video from Jipó. The track is an instant hit. Only one week after its release, the song’s video already has over 500,000 views. The tune rolls on an infectious Latin dance groove, incorporating elements of Salsa, Son and Jazz. As the video opens we see the singer approach a gorgeous woman, removing his mask and smiling. From there the track kicks off into a celebration of summer, love and the hopeful end of the pandemic.
The clip features three minutes of beautiful people dancing and loving in the summer sun. Meanwhile Jipó adds his smooth Pop tenor to a joyful groove. There are so many people and experiences that moved me… I’m still trying to figure it out.
What inspired you to create this project?
The desire to share his music while creating rhythms and lyrics that people can enjoy and connect with.
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
Continue to create music that people from all walks of life can enjoy. Connecting with a worldwide audience, regardless of race, culture, or educational background would be the utmost fulfillment to me, as an artist.
