Eejan is the professional name of emerging Hip-hop artist, poet and writer Najee Carter. The Pontiac, Michigan rapper has been making music for the past seven years and made his professional solo recording debut in 2021. Since then he has hit the ground running. So far this year the prolific emcee has released three singles.
“ChangedUp” is the latest single from Eejan, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 30, 2021. The track rides on a low downtempo Trap groove produced by Manny Manhattan. Jazzy electric piano keys set the mood as a trippy vocal sample floats on the edges of the mix to give the track a mellow Psychedelic vibe. As that chill beat rolls on, Eejan enters the mix with a laid-back flow but serious tone. He delivers a scathing assessment of false friends with ever changing priorities. As he realizes that others no longer have his back, he knows it’s time for him to change up as well.
