Falling For Suicide’s Dark New Indie Rock Vibe

falling for suicide

Falling for Suicide is the professional name of Shreveport, Louisiana based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer Sean Hall. The project was born of years of musical training and personal hardships. After his High School Alternative Rock band ‘Dysterious’ fell apart, Hall enrolled in college as a music major. He did well as a student of both piano and vocals and even performed once at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

While in college, Sean began playing in Rock bands again until he severely damaged his vocal chords and was unable to speak or sing. A subsequent car accident further aggravated his situation, leading to hospitalization, PTSD, anxiety and panic attacks. After years of hard work, surgeries, speech therapy and some healthy lifestyle changes, Sean was once again able to perform. Falling for Suicide was born.

“Set Me On Fire” is the latest single from Falling for Suicide, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 6, 2021. Mixing a 90’s Alt-Rock/Grunge aesthetic with a modern Indie vibe, Hall offers a dark and personal view into depression, anxiety and recovery. The track opens on a a mellow guitar and vocal riff which remain as the central melodic theme throughout the song. The tune rides a Lo-fi electronic drum groove that gives the verse a Pavement-meets-Trap vibe. Soon the song opens up to an emotional Nirvana-inspired power chord chorus.
