For the better part of a decade, Dan Rose has been entertaining fans worldwide with his distinctive Alt-Folk sound, deeply personal lyrics and entertaining interactive stage presence. In that time the Odense, Denmark-based singer/songwriter has performed more than 100 gigs travelling to nearly a dozen countries with his acoustic guitar in hand. He’s reached an even wider audience with his recorded works since his 2014 debut EP “You Were Here.” His songs are intimate and organic productions, bringing to mind the Americana sounds of artists like Ryan Adams and Conor Oberst.
“My Heart Belongs With You” is the latest single and title track from Dan Rose’s new EP, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 6, 2021. The track is a touching and slightly tragic love song. Over a shuffling Alt-Folk bass and drum groove, layers of acoustic and electric guitars paint a rich tapestry of sound. A smooth and bluesy lead guitar paints the edges of the mix throughout the song. Airy keys and backing vocal harmonies expand the horizon in the chorus as Dan sings a tale of devotion with a hint of heartbreak. In a Tom Petty/Roger McGuinn-esque Folk/Rock twang he sings, “My whole heart belongs with you, even if my love is not enough for you.”
