We first heard from SUBNR (a.k.a Will Burns) in May of this year upon the release of his single “Let it Rain.” That track introduced us to an internationally known producer with a taste for classic Dance music. Born in the UK and based in Ibiza, Burns has worked in multiple genres with artists around the world. Since 2020 he has targeted his creative energies on his own original EDM music.
“Never Let Go” is the latest single from SUBNR, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 30, 2021. This time the producer has teamed up with Legendary New York City vocalist and scene maker Barbara Tucker. The singer has been a club icon since the early 90’s when she appeared on a number of dance tracks for other artists and on her own international hit “Beautiful People.”
On their new collaboration the duo of SUBNR and Barbara Tucker deliver a classic Disco House groove. The track opens on an inspirational Soul intro as Tucker sings the song’s hook in perfect multi-part harmony. Soon a four-on-the-floor House beat drops, accompanied by a classic 70’s Funk bass line. As the song progresses orchestral strings and a touch of wah-wah guitar further cement the mirror ball feel. The track’s uplifting vibe conjures images of ravers dancing into the wee hours as Barbara sings, “See the light, feel the light, we’re the light!”
