“Butterflies” is the latest single from MacKenzie Bourg, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 6, 2021. Penned by MacKenzie, Kyle Reynolds and Carly Paige the song finds Bourg lending his emotive voice to a tale of a love affair that has seen better days and has now lost its spark.
We just wanted to write a song about feeling like you’re giving everything you have to a relationship and in the end the person just doesn’t feel the same anymore.

A solo finger-picked, nylon-string acoustic guitar opens the track. The singer enters the mix with a wistful look back at better times. A soft bed of ambient synths and lush vocal harmonies gradually expand the horizon. By the second chorus the track opens up to a percussive Pop groove as MacKenzie sings, “All of the butterflies ahead, are dead now.”
