For the better part of the past two decades Tucson, Arizona band Broken Romeo have been rocking the Southwest with their unique brand of Alternative Rock. Their sound is built on the fat riffs, power chord crunch and powerhouse vocals of brothers Steve and James Turpin and the airtight rhythm section of Ari Sloane (bass) and Matt Rignell (drums). During their tenure they have produced three albums; “Temptation” (2002), “Desperation Daze” (2011) and “Side One” (2015), as well as a 5-song self titled EP in 2004. Recent releases include the 2019 single “Calling Home” and now in 2021 they are poised to drop a new series of tracks.
“Cobra Woman” is the latest single from Broken Romeo, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 11, 2021. Opening a bit of rootsy Stones-inspired guitar, the band soon joins in and the track slides into a cool Black Crowes-style Alternative/Garage Rock vibe. As the song progresses the sound builds into a powerful 80’s riff-Rock groove. In a raspy howl, lead vocalist James Turpin sings the praises of a lady bartender who has attracted his attention. Meanwhile the band bangs out an arena-worthy Rock & Roll jam.
