Cold Sholda is the professional name of independent Hip-hop artist Sebastian Zinna. The New York native was raised on the mean streets of Gravesend, Brooklyn. The rapper describes the neighborhood as a “heavy mob stomping ground.” As a result he grew up surrounded by the influence of organized crime. However, encouraged by friends and family to pursue his dreams he chose a life in music rather than one in the mafia. Since his 2014 debut “Fire Starta,” the prolific artist has delivered 5 full length albums and a steady string of singles.
“Ceasar” is the latest album from Cold Sholda, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 12, 2021. The record is a concept album, laying out the rapper’s intent to revive the power and prominence of the Roman Empire. With the legendary emperor Julius Caesar as the centerpiece of his message, Zinna delivers his manifesto with classic East Coast Boom Bap beats and an old-school freestyle flow. The album’s current single “New Rome ” states the case for the emcee’s vision in which he sees Italians everywhere rejecting mob and drug culture and instead celebrating the technological and cultural achievements of their heritage.
Rather than just glorifying the street life which leads nowhere, I give hope to all young Italians everywhere. If we stick together to defend our culture we can build a NEW ROME.
