Sheer Element is a new singing group that came together after three friends made waves with a string of viral TikTok videos. The group’s members, Izzy Kaye, Tabon Ward and JEJ Vinson met while studying at The University of Southern California. After an impromptu cover of Ariana Grande’s “Only 1,” the diverse and talented trio suddenly found themselves with millions of fans. They realized that their sound was one worth pursuing and they headed to a recording studio.
“Pick up Your Feelings” is the first official release from Sheer Element. The track is a cover of the 2020 Jazmine Sullivan hit “Pick Up Your Feelings.” After a Jazzy intro, the song quickly drops to a Pop groove featuring staccato piano chords and a laid-back R&B bass & drum rhythm. The song’s simple arrangement leaves plenty of breathing room for the three Sheer Element vocalists to shine. The singers alternate between expertly executed three-part harmonies and soulful tag-team lead vocals as they deliver their take on this cool and clever farewell break-up song.
