Boston band The Freight made their recording debut in late 2020 with the single “Show Me.” The track immediately connected with critics and fans alike, reaching #1 on the iTunes Blues Singles Chart. The band has kept the train rolling. Since that auspicious introduction the prolific East Coast rockers have delivered five more singles. Their sound is influenced by fifty years of Rock & Roll history. The Freight consists of five veterans of their hometown’s legendary music scene; Stephen Anderson (bass), Marc Loverin (drums), John Marinilli (percussion), Greg Tragellis (keys) and band leader Adam Tiro (guitar/vocals). With each new track they delve deeper into their collective expertise in genres ranging from Acid Rock to 80’s Pop.
“See You Tonight” is the latest single from The Freight, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 23, 2021. The track opens with Tiro’s signature bluesy guitar and soulful vocals. The band joins in for a mellow shuffle in the verse as the singer tries to convince his lover to take things to the next level. In the chorus the track opens up to a classic 70’s Rock feel with an immediately memorable hook. Smooth Stones-style percussion, organ and guitar create a cool, organic feel throughout the track. Classic backing vocals from Vicky Lynch, Erin MacKenzie, Julia Babb and Anna Bates add to that vibe. It’s a great laid-back groove that ends with a big arena-Rock finish.
“See You Tonight” is about breaking down all those barriers that are getting in your way of being with that girl you know you need to be with. She knows it too and just needs some reminding of why this will be so great!
