Musician and songwriter Bob (Dyno) DiNozzi launched the collaborative ‘Dyno Project’ in early 2021 as a vehicle for his ever expanding collection of original songs. The Static Dive has followed the project from the beginning. Within the framework of classic Pop/Jazz, each new track reflects another side of the multifaceted artist’s talent.
DiNozzi is a Boston native and a veteran of a global music scene. The multi-talented multi-instrumentalist has spent decades performing as a stage and studio session musician for artists around the world. He’s played sessions in Rio and Porto Alegre with some of Brazil’s top jazz/pop recording artists and countless other gigs for such diverse styles as doo wop (the G-Clefs), Country Rock (Allen Estes Band) and British Blues (British Yankees). Throughout those years he continued to write his own music as he built an extensive network of musical friends. Dyno Project brings them all together.
“Son (Something Went Wrong)” is the latest single from Dyno Project, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 20, 2021. This time Bob DiNozzi teamed up with pianist/vocalist Steve Heck and drummer Chet Chester for Bossa Nova groove. Heck delivers the apologetic letter from a father to son over a jazzy piano progression while DiNozzi and Chester roll on a Brazilian beat that lands somewhere between Sérgio Mendes and Steely Dan.
I tried to bring a modern edge to this 60’s bossa nova/jazz inspired tune.
