Stephh V is an emerging independent Hip-hop artist from Sydney, Australia. She made her professional debut in 2017 with the release of the single “Back Back” (as Stephh Versace). That track introduced the world to a talented singer, rapper and producer with eclectic tastes and a versatile style. The prolific songwriter followed with a steady string of singles ranging in style from cool Disco grooves to hard Hip-hop jams.
She fell in love with music as a kid, working the decks at only 8 years-old. It was a difficult childhood. Her parents divorced early and her single mother had a difficult time dealing with the pressure. Fearing that the authorities would break-up the family if they knew how things were at home, Stephh kept her struggles to herself. Music became her only outlet. As she grew into adulthood she was pressured to pursue a career in business. However, it was soon clear to the singer that to be happy she needed to follow her musical dreams.
“Player” is the latest single from Stephh V, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 20, 2021. The track rides on a nice downtempo old-school Hip-hop beat. A slow rolling bass meets a smooth Jazz saxophone to set a sexy R&B vibe. Over that laid-back groove, in a cool and confident flow the rapper drops a testament to her own badass determination. She sets the premise with the opening line “I was born to be a mack. That’s a true fact,” and then commences to prove the point with a monologue about her skills in all areas of life, love and Hip-hop.
Before “Player” I released a single titled “Lover” about the heartbreak of ending of my 4 year relationship. Writing “Player,” I wanted to give the fans a mindset of transition, focus and purpose. It’s about putting yourself first, taking care of yourself and just feel content with yourself.
