Leen Hijazi is a Palestinian Jordanian singer/songwriter currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A lifelong musician, she began playing piano as a child. In 2019 the singer made her professional debut with the appropriately titled multilingual two song EP “Covers,” featuring her own versions of American Chris Isaak’s 1989 hit “Wicked Game” and French singing icon Edith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose.” The talented and versatile young artist returns in 2021 with a new artistic vision, “to bring a new taste to Arabic music.”
“Nseet” (I forgot) is the latest single and video from Leen Hijazi, released worldwide to all major streaming services on June 21, 2021. Riding on a laid-back mid tempo groove, the track combines modern Pop and Dance vibes with classic Arabic styles and sounds. A four-on-the-floor House beat carries the verse as a mix of guitars, keys and traditional instruments spin a beautiful Pop tapestry. Meanwhile, Leen Hijazi sings a sultry lead vocal in Arabic. The song’s chorus takes a break from the dance beat for a nice Pop interlude before ending on a wonderfully melodic guitar solo.
I was inspired during lock down and wrote this song. It came out naturally because I was going through a similar situation.
