Suirád Franklin’s New Psychedelic Trap

  • by
Suirád Franklin

Suirád Franklin is a musician, community leader and entrepreneur from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2009 he started a movement called “The Planes” which eventually grew into POE (Planes Over Everything), an umbrella brand name that covered all of his creative, philanthropic and business endeavors. Known as “The Youth Leader,” Franklin’s goal is to inspire others to be themselves. He works to encourage members of his South Philly community to be leaders and not followers.

In addition to his POE work, also launched a successful clothing line called ‘Senálp Apparel.’ He always had a hand in music as well, but never made it a priority until his cousin finally convinced him to dive into it more seriously. After releasing a series of tracks on SoundCloud, the rapper made his wide distribution solo debut in 2019 with the album “The Children Are Coming.” Since then the prolific artist has delivered two more full length albums and a long list of singles.

“Treat U Like Drugs (9ights like dis)” is the latest single from Suirád Franklin, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 13, 2021. An Alternative Rock style bass guitar opens the track, playing an eighth-note rhythm that serves as the song’s heartbeat throughout. Psychedelic synths and guitars paint the periphery as Suirád enters the mix, alternating between a melodic rap and soulful singing over the trippy backing track and a mellow Trap beat. It’s a cool, laid-back vibe.
