PeachMotif is a songwriting and production duo from Atlanta, Georgia. Steffi and Corbin have been good friends for years and the two musicians often discussed their desire to make music together. However, it was not until the lockdowns and quarantines of 2020 did they find the time to finally collaborate on some original tunes.
Although the obstacle of time had been removed, they now had to deal with a geographical separation as Steffi had moved hours away from their hometown. Undaunted, they launched their new endeavor over Facetime and red eye flights. In May of 2021 they introduced their hypnotic Dream Pop sound with the song “More.” This month they return with their follow-up.
“Always Next Time ” is the brand new single from PeachMotif, released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 10, 2021. The track opens on a bed of ambient keys riding a downtempo lo-fi Chill-hop beat. Dreamy synth arpeggios paint the periphery as Steffi enters the mix with a soulful relationship post mortem. We float with her through the verse as she recalls a love that missed its potential. As we enter the chorus the track breaks into the laid-back funk of a syncopated beat as the singer reaches into the stratosphere with an ethereal soprano as she sings, “There’s always next time.”
