David A. is a singer, songwriter and band leader from Tampa Bay, Florida. From his early days as the frontman of the regionally popular Alternative Rock bands The Fons and The Dharma Bums to his recent output of solo material, the veteran musician has enjoyed a colorful musical career.
Over the years he has taken a number of detours away from the music business. He returned to college for a while to complete his Master’s degree in English and Journalism. After graduation he worked as a college instructor, magazine editor, university public information writer, poet, short fiction writer and as an independent journalist appearing in prestigious publications like Chicago Sun-Times. However, after each hiatus he ultimately found himself drawn back to music.
Since 2014 David A. has released a series of singles and albums as a solo artist. In that time, he has worked with legends like Dead Kennedy’s founding guitarist East Bay Ray. His music has received widespread critical praise and even picked up some airtime on Sirius XM. Now he is back with his first new release of 2021, titled “Lit”.
“Balustrade” is one of the new singles from David A’s forthcoming cd, “Lit.” A percussive, drum & guitar groove introduces the grungy downtempo track. The band churns out a powerful Garage/Americana rocker as David A. delivers raw elemental images of fire, rain, Jesus, truth and lies in a seasoned Rock & Roll rasp. Meanwhile flashes of psychedelic Acid Rock guitar paint the periphery.
