J.Ele Drops The New Latin Funk

  • by
j.ele

J.Ele is a singer, songwriter and virtuoso pianist from Richmond, California, making his solo recording debut in 2021. However, the veteran musician is no newcomer. This new project follows a decades-long career as a stage and studio session musician and producer for dozens of other artists. A legit childhood prodigy, the first generation Mexican-American first took the stage at just 13 years-old and he has been blurring the lines between Rock, Funk, Soul and Latin music ever since.

In those early gigs, J.Ele joined his uncle’s band covering boleros, salsas and cumbias in clubs he wasn’t old enough to attend. Even before that he was cutting his teeth on his father’s Elvis, Classic Rock and Motown records. By the time he was in high school the multifaceted artist was working as the head producer at a Hip-hop label. He spent the next few years making records and playing clubs all over NorCal.

“Cadillac Dreams” is the brand new single from J.Ele, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 27, 2021. The song is the first to drop from his forthcoming debut album ‘The Get Down.’ The track introduces the talented musician’s new Latin Funk vibe. Rolling on a groove that recalls both the purple Minneapolis sound of Prince and the 1970’s outer space jams of George Clinton’s P-Funk, J.Ele sings in Spanish as he attempts to convince the object of his affection to join him for a joy ride in his Cadillac. It’s a great Funk groove with hooks galore.
