This has been a particularly busy year for Ariel Hill. With a series of high-profile media appearances and live performances under her belt, the singer has released four singles so far in 2021. Recent tracks live “Honeycomb” and “Dream in Peace” have racked up some big streaming numbers across multiple platforms. Ariel has even launched her own podcast/talk show titled “Riel Talk.” In the coming months she will drop her debut album “Moonstruck.”
“Made Up” is the latest single from Ariel Hill, released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 7, 2021. The track opens on with a dimly lit bass guitar and vocal intro. Ariel’s smoky vocals recall ‘Pure Heroine’ era Lorde as she addresses an unnamed love interest who ‘never calls.’ As the track progresses, a downtempo organic groove forms. Acoustic drums, ambient synths and an ethereal mix of guitars and backing vocal harmonies create a laid back, Morcheeba-style Trip-hop mood. Meanwhile Ariel tells the tale of her new obsession with a man who she does not know, or may not exist at all.
