Bloomfield Machine is the professional name of composer and multi-instrumentalist producer, Brian Kassan. On September 28, the Los Angeles-based musician will release his fourth instrumental album, “Units of Uncertainty.” It is the prolific producer’s second release this year following January’s “Frequency Illusion,” 2019’s ‘Dopamine Drift’ and 2017’s “Arguing With Success.” A classically trained keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, lyricist and songwriter, Kassan worked with a number of successful projects prior to going solo.
Through his work as the bassist and co-songwriter of the band Wondermints, Brian had the opportunity to work in the studio and on stage with the legendary Beach Boys genius, Brian Wilson. Music Kassan composed with Wondermints and his subsequent band Chewy Marble has been featured in film and TV. His songs have been placed in high-profile productions including the HBO movie “Mixed Signals” and the popular television series “Friday Night Lights.”
“MicroAggression” is the lead-off single from the Bloomfield Machine’s new album “Units of Uncertainty,” released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 28, 2021. The short instrumental piece is an excellent showcase for the talented Mr. Kassan’s distinctive compositional and production style. The track opens on a mix of analog synths and percussive found sounds. Live drums and bass enter the fold as robotic samples, a clavichord and ambient synths create cool psychedelic scene.
