ARJ Drops New Melodic House ‘Hold it Down’

  • by
ARJ

ARJ is a songwriter and music producer based in Chennai, India. At least, that is where he stays four months out of the year. The other eight months the emerging EDM artist lives at sea. That is because, when not behind the decks or on the dancefloor, he works on an oil tanker. It’s a difficult job without a lot of R&R and no time for clubbing. However ARJ takes advantage of downtime when he finds it by watching Formula 1 racing, listening to melodic House music and planning his tracks for the next trip home to the studio.

After a coworker introduced him to music making, ARJ enrolled in Norwegian DJ Kygo’s music production course. He made his professional debut in 2020 with the Tech House track “Inquilabi Guitar.” Since then, the producer has dropped three more singles. Each new track explores a different avenue EDM music, like the tropical house jam “Your Eyes” which dropped in April.

“Hold it Down” is the latest single from ARJ, released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 22, 2021. The song is a moving Melodic House ballad. Ambient synths open the track as a male vocalist delivers a soulful declaration of commitment to his lover. As the tune progresses, piano and acoustic guitar chords paint the edges of the mix as a powerful downtempo beat and percussive synth arpeggios create an expansive soundscape.

When i listen to melodic house it just brings a wide smile across my face no matter what situation I’m in. I wanna see the same look in the faces of people when they hear my music!
