Siavash Fathi is an Iranian/Canadian composer and multi-instrumentalist producer who approaches music with a mathematical mind and a philosophical soul. Viewing his compositions as a metaphor and model for life, he believes that through music we better understand our universe and our own lives. We seek the sublime through our art. It’s creation betters our world and in turn we better ourselves.
Music is about harmony of sounds, and lack thereof. Understanding harmony is understanding mathematics, and understanding the universe.
Siavash Fathi
After playing piano, guitar and a number of other instruments for more than 15 years, Siavash Fathi recently began composing his own original music. Influenced by neo-classical and experimental electronic artists like Olafur Arnals, Nils Frahm, Darkside and Yann Tiersen, he creates ambient instrumental music, combining organic and electronic elements into an experimental musical soundscape.
A computer programmer by day, he uses code/algorithmic generated music and electronic sounds to explore new soundscapes and musical expressions. Siavash Fathi made his solo debut in 2021 with the release of four singles. With shades of Classical, Electronic music and Post-rock, his compositions exist in the space between thought and emotion.
From the wildly experimental industrial meditation of “Confinement” to the ambient and dreamy solo piano composition “Floating Points,” Siavash Fathi’s music is a practice in mathematical spirituality unbound by genre or preconceived notions. On tracks “Uncharted Voids,” the adventurous producer mixes breakbeat rhythms with fractal electronic melodies and organic instruments like cello and guitar.
In just a few short months and a handful of releases, Siavash Fathi has created the foundation of a deeply meaningful and rich catalog of work. With many more compositions on the way, this multifaceted and deeply talented artist is set to bring his vision of personal growth through creation to an ever expanding audience.
