Readers of The Static Dive first heard from Chicago’s Janusz Domaszuk and his Plastic Tofu project in April upon the release of the single “Fighting for Life.” That song introduced us to a socially conscious songwriter with a revolutionary spark and a taste for classic Punk. Summoning the sounds and attitude of 80’s hardcore pioneers, Plastic Tofu delivers public service announcements with guitars.
“Make it Known” is the latest single and video from Plastic Tofu, released worldwide to all major streaming services on September 20, 2021. The track is built on signature Domaszuk high-octane Punk energy and thought-provoking lyrics. A wall of power chords and a staccato bass and drum rhythm provide the fuel. Janusz’s vocals trade leads with his guitar as he rocks out a cryptic message of breaking free from the oppressive chains of society’s expectations.
Your life is not a grind. Rip off that tie. Don’t let the flash cover your eyes.
Plastic Tofu
Although Plastic Tofu’s vibe is definitively Punk in both style and attitude, shades of other genres sneak their way into the mix. There is some nice leading guitar throughout the track which lends a Classic Rock lean to the sound. And in the bridge the song drops into a funky New Wave groove. However, we don’t stay there long. In short order the song kicks back into a double time rocker.
