Cubanbrown On Rhythm, Faith & Advocacy

cubanbrown

Cubanbrown is a singer, songwriter and producer with strong convictions and an international musical vibe. Born and raised in Canada with roots in South Asian and Cuba, he finds inspiration in the global community. Prior to launching his musical career, the singer traveled the world. For years he immersed himself in different cultures. What he found there both disturbed and motivated him.

From country to country, Cubanbrown met people who were suffering in poverty and oppression. He discovered the forgotten lives of millions, subjugated and oppressed by those with money and power. Of their suffering he says, “There was no outlet, no way to speak out about the injustice and anguish they experienced.”

Knowing that he must do something to speak for the voiceless, he entered a Cuban recording studio to tell his tale. Since releasing his debut single “You & Marijuana” in 2020, the prolific songwriter has produced 3 singles and two EPs in less than a year. His songs shine a light on the socio-political inequities he witnessed around the world.

“TwoEP” is the brand new three song EP from Cubanbrown. Released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 14, the record pairs the singer’s thought-provoking lyrics with some smooth Caribbean beats. The EP opens on the emotional “Gracious,” pairing a laid-back Reggaeton groove with a catchy Pop melody and Cubanbrown’s insightful lyrics, the track expresses the singer’s inability to reconcile our modern Western world with the suffering of others. “Clear Conscience ” follows with a hypnotic rhythm and melody as the singer delivers a cool meditation on everything from weed to crippling economic disparity.

The record closes on Cubanbrown’s current single, “Tropicana Heartbreak.” On the track he slides smoothly between his signature soft-spoken Soul and a Dancehall rap over a mellow Reggae groove. The track features some creative tempo changes and experimental production techniques as Cubanbrown searches for spiritual healing in a broken world.
