As the owner and creative director of the multimedia company Camovement, the artist ties images and sound together for an immersive experience.  After a series of musical collaborations, Cam Be made his solo debut in 2018 with the album ‘7 Steps to 7’, which served as a soundtrack to his photo exhibition entitled ‘So I Wrote Love in the Sky.’ His follow up album ‘Summer in September’ was released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 1, 2020.

“LEAD” is the current single from ‘Summer in September.’ On the song Cam Be is joined by fellow artists Yaw and THISISSHEBA. The track is built on a downtempo Boombap beat. A cool Jazz guitar and bass riff rides that mellow Alt/Hip-hop groove as the ensemble sings and raps a soulful tune about racial injustice. The collaborative feel and laid-back R&B/Soul vibe of the tune brings to mind 90’s pioneers of the genre like De La Soul and Arrested Development. With a backdrop of police brutality and systemic racism, the song searches for a better day.

Check out “LEAD” below. You can also hear the song on the Deep Indie Beat playlist, or listen to the entire ‘Summer in September’ album on your favorite streaming service.
