Tina Boga is the new musical project from Czech songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer, Tomas Hradec. From his studio in Prague, Tomas has spent the better part of two decades creating uplifting soundscapes by merging his classical piano training with modern electronic music production techniques.
Hradec launched his musical career in 2005, inspired by a wide range of artists, from experimental Pop/Art-Rock legend Peter Gabriel to the Ambient/New Age pioneer Mike Oldfield. Over the years he has worked as a producer and composer on projects for numerous artists and for film. In 2021 he makes his debut as a solo artist.
“When Everything Was Magic” is the new single from Tina Boga, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 15, 2021. The song is a beautiful bit of wistful nostalgia set to a laid-back groove. Ambient synths and strings create a smooth Dream Pop vibe. A female vocalist remembers the magic and innocence of childhood as percussive arpeggios dance around a downtempo EDM beat.

7 Questions with Tomas Hradec (Tina Boga)

Where are you from?
I’m from Prague, Czech Republic
How long have you been making music?
I started to discover music SW and synths in 2003 which is more than 15 years ago.
Who are the musicians involved in your project?
This time I’m alone. Usually I try to ask some singer to make lyrics and vocal melodies.
For the future I’m open to any cooperation. I also want to say that I would like to find some stable partner.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
I’m not sure if I can say what influenced me the most. I like many kinds of music, especially electronic music. I can say only what I listen to or which music group or artist I like, but it would be a long list 🙂 Maybe in general it was styles like 80’s pop, then trance, chillout/ambient and in the end it was today’s pop.
What is your greatest non-musical influence?
I think it’s a good mood. I can’t make any music if I’m not feeling well. On the other hand… beautiful nature, joy of life, satisfied family and things around me are inspiring me to make something.
What inspired you to create this project?
There were more inspirations, but the biggest one was that I want to make my own new author’s project again after ten years. In the meantime I had a long time when I made music for others or I helped people with their music. So I decided to change it a bit and dedicate effort back to me and make what I want and what I like. I also want to try to make more “poppy” music. So this is the first result 🙂
What are your plans for the future (musically)?
My only plan is to make music that finds listeners 🙂 Anyone who makes music or anything else wants to create it for others and needs feedback from them. Probably I will experiment a bit with styles of music and I’m curious / wonder how far this will develop.
BTW, as I said before… I also would like to make some more stable team around the project.
